Welcome to my 1820's farm house renovation gallery...a true labor of love.

EXTERIOR – AS PURCHASED

1820 Farmhouse located on former dairy farm.  Barn, wellhouse and chickcoops still on site but in need of much care.

EXTERIOR – CURRENT

After removing the shutters, repairing the side porch, painting and replacing 3 chimneys…she doesn’t look half bad…on the outside!

BARN/GARAGE – AS PURCHASED

First step…evacuate the family of raccoons living in it!

BARN/GARAGE – CURRENT

Custom doors installed, damaged clapboards replaced and entire barn painted.

WELL HOUSE – AS PURCHASED

After removing the roof from the well house, we found the original well for the home still full of water!

WELL HOUSE – CURRENT

Now sealed with a blue stone slab but working with pump and hose to allow for use.

FRONT LAWN – AS PURCHASED

While the road is not busy, it felt like the front lawn needed something to mark the end of the yard.

FRONT LAWN – CURRENT

By adding a row of deer-resistant arborvitae, we were able to create a bit of privacy and block the small amount of road noise as they grow wider and taller.

KITCHEN – AS PURCHASED

Linoleum floors, formica counters, old appliances and cabinets, drop ceiling and no pantry.

KITCHEN – CURRENT

Pantry added behind fridge, all new appliances, new wood flooring, cabinets, soapstone counters, pass through bar, exposed beams and beadboar ceiling makes for a rustic yet modern kitchen.  And this door found in the barn out back made a perfect pantry (which used to be the off-kitchen laundry room) door once painted and cleaned up!

 4TH BEDROOM – AS PURCHASED

The 4th bedroom was sacrificed in order to add a master bath, master closet and laundry room.  Note the vanity is a reclaimed buffet from a local consignment shop. Great find!

Refinished treads, painted trim and had custom-weaved wool runner installed.

UPSTAIRS HALL CURRENT

POWDER ROOM CURRENT

After pulling up the linoleum floor in the powder room, we found there wasn’t much holding the toilet up.  This part of the house was once an exterior wrap around porch. We replaced the flooring, painted ceiling and trim, replaced the toilet and sink, added shutters and updated lighting.

HALL BATHROOM CURRENT

The hall bath was straight out of the 70’s.  The only salvageable components were the mirror, door and the tub.  Everything else needed to be updated.

SCREENED PORCH CURRENT

No before pictures on this one.  However, the riverstone floor had been sealed with a poly of some sort and was peeling in some areas and impossible to remove it in others.  Solution? Indoor-outdoor rug! We painted all the trim, rewired ceiling fan and added antique decor. Favorite room in spring and fall.

LAUNDRY ROOM BEFORE

LAUNDRY ROOM CURRENT

The laundry room was added using the back-end of the 4th bedroom which was recently converted to a master bath and closet.  Now there is access to laundry room from master suite and the hallway.
